It could be:

1. A symptom of Lupus
2. Pleurisy
3. Costochondritis
4. Interstitial cystitis
5. A strain/injury

If you have had it for a few weeks then you should really go and see your GP.
I had a similar problem about 3 years ago. It started off as a normal cold then turned into a chest infection but 3 months later I still had pain all over my ribs. I eventually went to the doctors who sent me for a chest xray. It turned out it was caused by the fibromyalgia I have (all the cartlidge?? around my ribs was swollen up) I have had it years but never in my ribs so didnt think for one minute it was that.

Im not suggesting you may have fibro, Im just saying that it could be anything and you really ought to get checked out.

Cheers pixi..and oct - ive googled my symptoms and i think its fibromyalgia as well, : ( i have too many likenesses to that condition for it not to be that, il go and see my docs then.. : (
good luck at the docs, I really hope its something simple and not fibro cos its horrible. If you wanna chat about it feel free to email me [email protected] :)
