A Minneapolis couple decided to go to Florida to thaw out
after a particularly icy winter. They planned to stay at
the same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years
earlier.

Because of hectic schedules, the husband left Minnesota
and flew to Florida on Thursday, with his wife flying down
the following day.

The husband checked into the hotel. There was a computer
in his room, so he decided to send an e-mail to his wife.

However, he accidentally left out one letter in her email
address and, without realising his error, sent the e-mail.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned
home from her husbands funeral. He was a minister who had
a heart-attack and died. The widow decided to check her
e-mails, expecting messages from relatives and friends.
After reading the first message, she screamed and fainted.
The widow's son rushed into the room and saw the computer
screen which read:

To: My Loving Wife
Subject: I've Arrived
Date: October 16,2004
I know you're surprised to hear from me. They have
computers here now and you are allowed to send e-mails
to your loved ones. I've just arrived and have been checked
in. I see that everything has been prepared for your
arrival tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then!
Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was.
P.S. Sure is freaking hot down here.
Naz - assuming the poor woman has had a bereavement and let people know here with respects I think your joke is in appalling bad taste.
Well, I'm sorry if 'you're' offended, but I really couldn't care less ...

Kev was a great bloke, and would have laughed his bits off at that joke ...

So get lost, and go and be righteous somewhere else.
people do some out of the ordinary things at a time of greif
back off and give a bit of space
maybe he loved it here, I know if I died the first thing my best mate and my mum would think to do would be to contact the Starsailor forum. Not so strange.
mmm, i do see your point boo.

and if you add to that, the assertion that he was not a popular person because he had strong opinions and the use of the the phrase "bought the farm", woven into almost a little joke, to describe the loss of her husband - today - i am slightly dubious now too....

if this is some kind of sick joke, then poor kev!
I, like you BOO am also slightly dubious and apologise if I am wrong. We are so polite aren't we. Did Kev post very often on AB does anybody know. Hi by the way - hope you are well
Just looked in on your thread here Boo,and saw Peri had replied!!..Hi Peri!!..Good to see u back!..Stay around!!
I wondered exactly the same thing, B00, and didn't reply because I wasn't quite sure. I don't think either of us is evil.
I agree with you too, BOO ~ not quite sure what to say!
Maybe kev had asked his wife to post his death on here when the time came. As said before, we all deal with death in different ways and maybe she felt she was carrying out his wishes by doing so!
I take that point too, Unrulie. On the face of it, it does look strange..however everyone is different.

Hi Peri

If you put kev100 in the search you will see he did post often though mostly on news.

:o)
The poor woman has lost her husband. She knew that he liked to converse with people on here and thought she would take the time out and share her news with others who knew him. Whats to get??????????????????
i have to agree with spurslady. I dont think its so strange at all really.
Naz, I was not offended personally but I was thinking about a wife who may have viewed your joke. I am new and don't know people here or their humour but I was considering a widow who may have read it. I was not attacking you as I loved the joke when I first read it a long time ago. If I am not able to share my views I will take care to answer/reply to your posts in future. I apologise because I was not offended but thought of the wife who may have viewed it. Sorry Naz.
