A friend of mine who is trying for a baby has told me that a woman is only fertile 2 days a month, and that they are the 2 days before your period. This seems crazy to me, mainly due to the high amount of accidental pregnacies that seem to happen. Is she right????
2-3 days is about right. It's actually 14 days back from the day you start your period. So on a 28 day cycle you will generally ovulate on day 14. On a 30 day cycle about day 16....This is only accurate if your periods are regular..
sorry pip, i didnt read it correctly. No its not the most fertile time, around 12-14 days after first day of period is. But as i said before you can fall pregnant at ANY time during your cycle.
Sorry, should have typed "WAS" trying for a baby. They suceeded after about 8 months of trying., but I forgot about it until the other day, when I was talking about fertility with my H2B (as you do!)
However, I can now use you fantastic advise for me! Last night my other half and I had a talk, and have decided that now is a good time for me to come off the pill. We're getting wed in 6 months time and are going to start trying as soon as we're married! I'm so excited!!!
Oh thats nice news, but I'd be a bit wary of coming off the pill straight away, my friend did that thinking she's have a while for her body to get back into baby mode and was pregnant within 2 weeks. :-)
My sister did exactly the same thing. She thought it would take a while to get pregnant and she fell in about 2 weeks. She was lucky she wasn't showing for her wedding
