1: My Dad, he taught me so much that I didn't realise I would need until I got older. The trouble is that he died before I could thank him for it.

Hi Jenna, i have 2 friends that have been in my life right at the very point that i needed them most.
The first one was there for me when i lost my baby. She helped me through the whole thing and gave me the strength i needed at the time to get through it. Sadly she now lives in America but i still e mail her now and then. She is my sons Godmother.
The 2nd was a friend who helped me through a very difficult time when my marriage broke up. Unfortunately we have now lost touch but i know she knows just what she did for me. I will always have the strongest love for them both.

family wise it was more my Mum than my Dad, though I miss them both as much, but my Mum was very very strong and was able to get by any obstacle that presented itsself, apart from myloid displacia : (

Its the classic adage, you don't know what you've got till its gone.

This sounds soppy and only marginally linked to the orginal question but please, the next time you see your parents, or step parent or whoever had the impact on your life, just thank them for teaching you to fix a plug, or change a car wheel or make yorkshire puds (ma to thank for that one :)). You never know when you will get the chance.
