Mummy tummy
52 Answers
Following on from legend's Q, I have what Mr Boo calls a "mummy tummy", which roughly translates to a (small!) spare tyre with stretch marks on it.
Now I detest this part of me and really hate it when he touches it, however he reckons he loves it as its part of me and it's only there as i've given birth to his baby yada yada yada....
Now my Q is, is he talking complete and utter rubbish? Do ya reckon he probably thinks it's gross as well but it's here to stay so he might as well accept type it of thing? Or could he genuinely believe the flannel he tells me?

I have a belly that any nine months pregnant woman would be proud of, I'm not happy with it, but its mine, I have no hang-ups about it, it ain't likely to disappear, I would rather it did though!! and I cant even blame it on beer lol

one of my childrens mothers had a mummy tummy.
it also had numerous stretch marks.
making it resemble a watermelon.
on reflection i think i did like it .
but it also was different from when id met her.
am i bad because i missed the old her?
even though i still loved her?
god i need beer im getting toooooooo deep now .lol

One of your childrens mums? How many kids have you got legend????
I've tried having this argument on Messenger with someone and I failed miserably with it. The person I spoke to reckoned that men in general genuinely don't mind these tummys.
Which makes me wonder then why, when they get lads mags or porn, they drool over the oh so many perfect bodies in them???

These women are purely for decoration, I don't think the men are thinking of a long term relationship when they're looking at the pictures.
Anyway, I think the biggest problem is not men looking at pictures in magazines but us women looking at these airbrushed, starved, over made up women and thinking 'I should look like that' All these stupid women flogging exercise DVD's saying' ooh, I had twins and 6 days later went out wearing size 8 jeans' It doesn't encourage or motivate us , it just makes us feel like like big, flabby failures.
I go to a yoga class every week and you would be flabbergasted at all the different sizes and shapes you get there. No two women the same and not one out of the whole class would say they were perfect. But we do what we can and we have a laugh and when I leave it is probably the one time in the week when I feel relaxed and comfortable with myself. My husband looks forward to these nights! ;0

Hi Boo
I also used to hate my 'mummy tummy' and was paranoid about my boyfriend touching it, even though it wasn't even that bad. He said it didnt bother him in the slightest, and if i kept on about it, it would do his head in eventually (the moaning - not the belly).
Then I had a reality check, when through no fault of my own i ended up with a permanent colostomy 4 years ago. Now i struggle with people's vanity when they're moaning about a little bit of fat and a few stretchmarks... even though i was one of them!!
Now i guess i'd do anything (just about) to just have that little belly and a maze of red marks across it.
The stoma/colostomy bag don't bother my boyfriend either, he always has and always will love me no matter what, and now i believe him.
Please dont see this as any kind of personal attack on anyone who is unhappy with their body, I'm just talking about how, i personally, put things into perspective.
Take care
