Thats bad when you have to explain that you're not a newbie :-) Well 10 years ago I was 18 and I was with a lad that I ended up seeing For 2 years, I was at college and totally mucked about, bunked lessons, sat in caf all day :-) Living at home with mum, dad and lil sis and basically a nightmare teenager. Great fun. :-)
i was 11 ten years ago so i was probably at high school just started!!
oh the memorys !!
my lifes changed in so many ways when i was in high school i got into the wrong crowd and i wouldnt of got out of the crowd if it wasnt for my current bf who i started dating at the age of 13 but didnt properly get into a relationship until we were 17!!
Oh God, you pair make me feel so old, ten years ago i was 28!!! I had a son of 3 1/2 and was with my b/f. Now i have a son of 3 1/2 and a 15 year old and am married to my then b/f but other than that, not much has changed for me! Still in the same house too!
I hope to be in a similar situation you are in now Julie in 10 years time, and Im 28 now. Teen years and twenties are hard work I hope it becomes more settled in my 30's !
1997 eh? The Bridgewater Three are freed and Dolly the sheep is going to be successfully cloned tomorrow. 'Remember Me' by Blue Boy was a big hit and you couldn't escape hearing 'Don't Speak' by No Doubt on the radio. I was dating a guy with a Danish name which would end up lasting 5 years and who would be the first and last man I cheated on, I was living in Ascot and working for a company I loved (who I nicknamed 'Rowdy Barman') in the same town, and for the first time ever I rented my own place and felt liberated. :o)
Queenbee s I love being in my 30's and dare i say it, i am quite looking forward to turning 40! How sad am i???lol I do feel more settles than i ever have at any point in my life!
I love being in my 30's too, Julie. I was 24 ten years ago and fun, carefree and irresponsible. I certainly wasn't an academic but I was becoming aware of that and wanted to change that fact about myself. I've always carried the same core values which I stand by, but I think since then I've matured in my intellect as well my self-confidence.
Ten years ago I was coming up to 15 years old and having the most brilliant time at school. Just introduced to alcohol and having lots of house parties on Friday and Saturday nights. I loved those days, everything was new and exciting.
Ten years ago I was just starting at University as a mature student a history undergraduate, my life looked to be going forward, my kids were happy and at school.
I still had both my parents but my grandson was nothing like expected. I was with the same person i ws with up to two months ago.
The plan was to do the degree and return to tutoring, it didn't happen cos i lost my mum and had a grandson.
i have learnt to not plan too far ahead.
i was still living at home and still at school, was 17 years old and lived for partying and having fun, i still do though! except now i have a job and live by myself!
i loved those days aswell, everything seemed so exciting!!
10 years ago i was 32 and nearing the end of my marraige,
and also the end of being a necessity in my daughters lives,
unknown to me .
i had time to lick my wounds and recover .
3 years later i had new partner and then followed my son.
a year ago that ended sadly too, again i was in the dark.
so i relocated to tenerife and now im single working in a bar and im doing ok.
what have i learned?
well sh!t happens and it seems to happen when you least expect it to.
so i just get on with life now and hope for the best.
