What do we all do for a living? Do we like our jobs?
I'm an Estate Agent...... Everyone........ Boooooooooooooooooo!
I love it though, I think Estate Agents are all stereotyped as being these people who show you round houses and tell you obvious and pointless things like
"This is the kitchen" "This is the bathroom"
And that they are basically con artists.
Rubbish!
I do very few viewings and spend most of my time at my computer making sure that peoples sale and purchases are dealt with with the least amount of hassle. Sorting out queries, speaking to solicitors and financial advisors, going through survey report, negotiating offers (always with the vendors best interest at heart I might add!) And I don't get a redicioulous amount of commission either. I'm quite pround of my job.
I'm a P.A. Well, actually I'm a bit of everything. I'm a P.A. for two directors and one manager but I also do the receptionist duties and office administration/secretarial duties. I love my job but it can be quite stressful. I don't know if P.A.s have a stereotype or not though...?
Im a team leader for a computer consumables company we sell toners inks and stationery, I look after a team of 6 people training them up and helping them win orders, i used to love my job but recently its got a bit stale, i need a new challenge if anyone knows of anything??
I'm a P.A. too. I work as Personal Assistant to the 2 Heads of HR for Centrica. I don't actually like what I do for a living as I can do my job with my eyes shut!, but I do like my job here because I get a lot of freedom and handle quite a few bulky projects. Diary management is extensive here but I literally control my boss's lives so that side of things is pretty easy.
Im a mortgage adviser and I love it. Im a nice mortgage adviser though, I always make sure my customers get the best possible deal for them. Im not so keen on estate agents though ! ;O)
I'm a Young People's Development Worker (posh term for a Youth Worker). I work with young people like in the controversial pink topic box this week!
Used to be my dream job & worked really hard to get it but now I'm a bit fed up as I don't know if I'm making any difference at all to young people's lives.
(Feeling a bit negative today.....would probably give a totally different, more positive, answer next week)!
i work in a small bar in los cristianos tenerife.
the wages are enough to pay my rent and feed mer and get drunk whenever i want .
if i smoked i could probably afford fags too out of my wages.
so im happy just now .
lol
I'm a secretary/PA too. My job is boring most of the time. I want to expand my Ebay business and not have to work in a industry I have no interest it (science-based yawn). To work for myself would be much more interesting and fulfilling.
I'm teaching myself HTML so I am getting to where I want to be.
I used to work for an estate agent and he was a complete @r$e. I wouldn't stereotype though as I sold commercial property for him (not that I got any thanks for it) and I'm not a con artist.
I have two jobs and love them both. I work for a local council in their IT department during the day and I'm a dj at weekends... life is good at the moment :0)
I work in a finance department of a global Plc (Shineybomb, you think your lot are boring!!).
Been a private detective and a recruitment consultant in my time, i'm working my way throught all the work stereotypes!
Maintenance fitter - shifting spanner and an oily rag - fixing machines. Used to like it, but all of the bull in recent years, like, "teamwork", and over centralisation, means it's lost its attraction. Shift work and weekend overtime, so not much time off to spend with family.
I don't really like my job much. I'm a debt collector for a drug dealer.
I'm supposed to finish at 5 so I'm on overtime now, I'm going home.
Night night.
