Obsessed with age

certain people on here have a problem with people over the age of 40, they discriminate and use peoples age as an insult, it is not the way things work in the real world and so why should it be tolerated on a website?

I'm 46 and have never found this, but if someone is stupid enough to discriminate against me because of my age that's their cross to bear as I won't bother them at all because it proves how stupid they are. Don't let it bother you dot, idiots come in all shapes and sizes, and some people just enjoy being nasty.
You could say that some of the older members on here (not you) were a pain in the backside to younger people as well, trying to impose their views and opinions on them, but that's what happens when people all try to interact, you get the odd ar5ehole here and there of all ages.

Have to agree nox! Have seen for more condescending attitudes towards the younger/newer members than vice versa.

trouble is dot, you are playing into their hands by keeping on about it.
you have mentioned this issue a few times now and are clearly upset and angry about it.

that it music to the ears of people who want to wind you up!

every time someone offends you, no matter how minor, you come on with numerous longwinded posts complaining about it, stamping your feet and making idle threats - this is what they want!!
far from having the effect you want of letting all of us know how horrible they are, all it really does it make them laugh their heads off!

the reason they keep on at you is because you keep responding.

I've been discriminated against myself, not sure if it was coz of my age or the fact that I'm female, but have been called 'stupid' for disagreeing with someone and a 'raving leftie' for sticking up for my opinions, all in the news section, oh and I've also been called a 'transexual' by a long gone Aber, possibly because of my name ?? (guess i'll never know) ... Did it stop me from posting? Not at all, I'm going to continue posting as before and more so in the news section, everyone should go there once in a while, just to hear a few friendly insults from the warm/ lovable abers there. B&S begins to look quite tame after that :)

I respect young and old!! Theresa good and bad in both same as everything.

I come across a lot of elderly people in my line of work and i have to say, i find most of them fascinating to chat with and I do get on really well with them, the odd one of two can be a little offhand and moany but they are the minority i think..

We're all going to be old one day, if we're lucky that is!

and one last thing, dot, YOU are not old, still a young springer at your age. :-)

Hey! dot. Of course I'm obsessed with age. I have too much of it. The great thing about Grandchildren ( I have 12) is , you can always send them back. And, what is more they are under the impression that you know more than their parents. Which, of course is true but their parents would never admit to it. ;)>

well megan, there are no spelling mistakes there - except luv, but thats allowed, and that its either one word -I'm - or two words - I am.
other than that no worries.
just do your best and most people aren't too concerned with typos etc, and certainly won't be against you for it.

the only thing that really seems to grate on people is text speak.
