Does anyone have any interesting ideas on what would keep one occupied during the evenings? I get bored of coming home form work an watching TV till I go to bed. It's not a healthy existence! All ideas welcome! Thanks
Wish I could do that, I love a relaxing night in, but I have so many people to see on different nights that before I know it its the weekend. I got asked what I was doing last Thursday and when I said sat in on my own, I got told oh you should have said, Id have popped round I replied with but thats just it I want a night in on my own :-) Was great had a relaxing bath, face pack and hot choc. I suggest you visit all the friends youd promised youll catch up with and never have, or go swimming. :-)
Meet with friends
Join a sports club
Find a hobby
Read a book
Write a story
Learn to play a musical instrument
Cook a meal/ invite some friend/s over for a chat
I'm sure there's plenty of other stuff.
Hope this helps, leave it up to you.
On Monday nights I have salsa class, then on alternate Tuesdays I go to a local pub quiz with the girls.
If I'm not socialising with friends then I'm either at home having a pampering night, or doing Sudoku puzzles, or playing The Sims, or reading, or watching a film, or making jewellery, or adapting clothes, or something else!
My next task is to create some interesting artwork for my new bedroom. :o)
Oh yeah, and I jog after work approx. 2 evenings a week. If you do lots of exercise then you don't feel so bad about sitting on your backside all night. But do turn the TV off. It's all junk on there anyway.
Ive made myself go for a short walk every night at 6.30pm. after a few days its your new routine and you dont even think about it. mp3 player on and away you go. i also time myself and try to beat my time. also means you can download new music regularly which is another hobby of mine. oh and you can look in folks windows for a nosey!! i also have a bacardi night every wednesday for my bacardi drinkin mates (done so for about 3 years). we catch up on work, gossip and men!! this certainly fills a wee space.
Also, if you stay indoors, make sure you watch MasterChef before you turn the tv off, then you could:
- play challenging pc adventure games, such as Monkey Island, Broken Sword.
- buy a steering wheel and Grand Prix 4 and drive a few GP circuits.
- read ?
Volunteer for something -
Red Cross
St. John's Ambulance
Scouts / Guides / CCF - far too many organisations to mention
Everybody is looking for bright people like you
And it gives you a warm feeling inside!
