I am now an OAP but when i was bringing up my family the notion of drinking 2 litres of water a day was never raised, in fact, it would probably have sounded like a fad.
As a result, i never got into the way of it and i cannot start now as i dislike the taste of water anyway. My point is, not drinking lots of water did not seem to do us any harm. Whats the point of drinking all that water??

is it healthy to drink water? well a lot of people have been drinking it for a long time with no ill effects to my knowledge so yeah id say its ok
The idea of drinking 2ltr of water a day is a misnoma reported by the press who got hold of the wrong idea from some current research results.
The reality is that the average person does require about 2 ltr of liquid a day, but the largest proportion of this is provided in the food we eat. The rest is gained by drinking any non alcoholic drink when thirsty.
It is therefore not necessary to actually consume this ammount of water in pure liquid form.
Eat when you are hungry
Drink when you are dry
But! don't stop breathing
Or else you'll die.
I also have my bus pass.
