The cross trainer (i have one), its more of a pedalling motion that you do with your feet, on the air walker your legs just slide back and forth rather than a rotating pedal motion.

I was going to say an air walker will not shout at you like a cross trainer will. However that is not funny and irrelevant to the thread, so I apologise.
