My ex text me lastnight after seeing me and my new bloke together and he said he was going to try split us up and steal me away. I told my bloke just in case he heard any stupid rumours that the ex might be trying to spread and he wanted me to tell him where ex lives, I said no and now he's annoyed I wont tell him. To me I just cant be doing with it dragging on and maybe I shouldn't have said a thing, but if my bloke goes round to confront him then the ex is getting just what he wants, a reaction. Have I done the right thing?

You are also trying to save any trouble by not giving him the address of your ex and he should be able to understand that. If i see your ex I'll tell him where to get off, treating you the way he did he deserves no second chance and should learn from his mistake, not threaten you.
So...............do we get to meet him on Thursday??? I might stay late just to check him out lol

No do not tell him.
What will be the outcome, a fight leading to injuries and a possible arrest? There are scummers on here who keep threatening violence towards me. They look bad enough on here, imagine what it will be like in real life.
I can truthfully say outside of the Army and on the Rugby field I have never been in a fight in my life. I do not look "hard", but if truth be told I could probably kill anybody within about 3 seconds. So what's the point?

Well he probably wouldnt fight him but hed probably do his car over or something more stupid, he doesnt need to do a thing. He said he would find out somehow and I said if you want to keep me happy then dont do a thing otherwise it will only p1ss me off. The ex is upset he may have treated me like cr@p but he doesnt deserve to have that just coz he now realises what he had. And redcrx it wouldnt be a second chance, if I did it which I definitely wouldnt it would be about his tenth And no hell come round later I should think. Youll be able to meet him one day. :-) I told ex that if he managed which he wouldnt I wouldnt go back to him anyway as nothing would have changed. and yer I know Pa__ul its nice but I wish I hadnt said anything now, but then I dont want to keep any secrets from the newbie

Is there any particular reason that you need to stay in touch with your ex? In consideration of the newbies feelings, might it be time to tell the ex to go away and leave you get on with your life and your new relationship. Can you change your mobile number to show newbie you are serious about him? Threats like this are tantamount to harrassment.

Probably not as much hassle as fisticuffs at dawn, but thats up to you. I think you did the right thing telling him but how did you expect him to react? If he had said nothing would you have felt a bit miffed..?! Set some ground rules with the ex, tell him to sling his hook and ignore any texts or messages from him, you either want move on or you dont.
