My hubby was mr average height when he was 16 - he is now 6'2 - he puts it down to doing an outside physical job when he left school and drinking 2- 3 pints of milk a day - along with most of the contents of the bakers! I would just make sure that you eat a healthy diet, take plenty of fresh air and exercise and get plenty of sleep (that's when you grow) so not too many late nights - guys can keep growing right up to their 20's.
I stopped growing at 15 when I became homeless. I was 6ft 4in and weighed a measley 10st7lb. Lost further weight right up to my 18th birthday when I weighed in at a scary 9st3lb! I'm a week from being 24 and now weigh in at 12st 7lb and have never felt better! Apparently it's all downhill from 30 onwards but I know marathon runners in their 60's and they've no intentions of slowing down! 5'10's a reasonable height though, any bigger and you end up bumping into things all the time and short arses make you feel guilty at gigs and stuff.

I was the tiny kid at school, and when I went to university people thought I was a child genius, and that I was really about 15. I only got my growth spurt between 19 and 20, and am now at the heady height of 5'10".
I'm 26 now, and it was remarked only very recently by my older friends that my body seems to have just stopped changing. They mentioned last week that I seem to have finally filled out (not got fat!) and reached that final finished article. Everyone goes at different speeds!
In response to the question, your best indicator is your parents, but even that can be misleading sometimes

This is programmed from birth, and the formula is once you have your growth spurt of about 6 inches in a year, you'll then add a couple more and stop. That can happen at any time around puberty and will therefore correspond with the time you mature which varies by many years. Work out when your growth spurt was and add two inches and that'll be about it, and can be measured in advance from bone readings by experts.
My older brother was one of the smallest in his school year at around 5' 6'' at 16, then over the next couple of years it was like watching a tree sprout! He finally stopped growing at 21 at the height of 6' 3''. My younger brother started growing earlier, and stopped growing earlier, finishing at 6' 1''.
However, as the only girl in the equation, I stopped growing at 14 at the height of 5' 4''. Nobody ever believes I've got tall brothers until they meet them!
