Child abusers.

We are all praying for little Maddie, abducted in Portugal. Apart from a handfull ie. Myra Hindley, Rose West to name but two. All the vile child abusers, I would say 99 out of 100 are men, what makes these 'men' so evil?

For those who have been operating under the belief that fathers were the most prevalent abusers of children, these statistics may come as a shock. Add to this the hidden factor that women are reported to authorities far less as having been abusive than men, and a troubling picture of the classic assumption that women are a kinder and gentler gender dissipates into the wind. Overall, women account for 60% of abusers of children according to U.S. goverment statisitcs. At the very least, such data provides an indicator that children are not inherently safer with mothers as opposed to fathers, and that abuse takes many forms.
.
Its a commo0n misconception that more men commit abuse puss.Sorry but more kids are killed by their family or friends than by strangers too.Makes you think eh.

hang on, we don't know she's been abused, just abducted. This I believe is more likely carried out by childless women who want one of their own - wasn't there a case in England within the last 10 years? I'm not saying I know what's going on here; but these people - both sexes - are often sick rather than evil.
I agree with jno & Pink..
We don't know what has happened with regards to Maddie. Something fishy going on as far as I can tell..stories are changing and to be honest it doesn't make sense. In any case, it isn't right to include Maddie in this Q as we don't know the real facts as yet.
As for the Q, I have no statistics. However I agree with legend ~ a child is more likely to be abused or murdered by family or friends...male or female.

Well lets wait and see shall we, but I do hope that this child is in the hands of a loving woman who longs for children and treats this little girl with love and not some perverted man who has no interest but his evil thoughts. I know that there are some of you out there that are going to get on my case about this, but this is really serious, do you really think that this liittle girl is now in a loving and safe situation or does your heart and head dread the outcome. Only sensible replies please.
Following on from pinks comment.
56% of all police recorded child abductions in 2002/2003 in England and Wales involved an offender not known to the child. 23% of child abductions involved a parent. The remainder involved other people known to the child.

Something i discovered does concern me .It should concern women more though. It says that 70% of men who abuse their partners will also abuse their children. So ladies if he hits you throw him out and think of your kids first.

Last quote ok.
"A Justice report put together 12 years ago said acquaintances were responsible for 27 percent of kidnappings, strangers were responsible 24 percent of the time, and family members 49 percent of the time"
Why they would do it unless something had happened to the child i cant work out though?I worry for her and hope shes safe.
