I've lost 5.5 pounds in two weeks.
Cut down on carbs and more fruit and veg. You could buy a trampoline - the kids would love it and you would burn lots of cals. Or take the kids swimming, play football, rounders

1) Buy a heart monitor for all exercise
2) Eat loads of fruit and Veg
3) Never look at calories. NEVER
4) Eat food less than 5 percent fat
5) Don't smoke
6) Have a hearty breakfast. Even a greasy fry up is better than nothing. Porridge is fab, or any fibrous cereal.
7) Eat chocolate, crisps, cakes but in moderation.
8) Drink 2 litres of water a day minimum. Tap water is fine.
9) Add more walking to your day. Park the car further away in the carpark, never drive on short journeys, take the stairs as opposed to lifts etc.
10) Enjoy your new lifestyle. If your are unhappy and are losing no weight (which can happen even on a diet) just keep thinking that you are still getting healthier. On paper I am a stone and a half overweight. However, running sub 5.45 miles and having a resting heart rate below 50, few can complain.

Why can't I smoke?????
Oh dear. You are better off being ten stone overweight than smoking even 5 a day.
The single best thing you can do, by a country mile, is stop smoking. Not cut down, not having the occasional one, but stop.
What is the point of giving your heart and lungs a work-out if you are going to stuff the tubes with sickly black tar? and what is the point of eating healthy if you are going to digest about 200 chemicals, including arsenic and pesticides, found in ciggies?
I'll tell you the point, NO BLOODY POINT.

Hi Allo! Take up golf with your husband! Not only will you get more exercise but you will also get to spend time with him which I'm sure will help solve another problem you had wiht him! Avoid the 19th hole/ only drink juice or water when you get there! Aparently for every 4 lb overweight you are, you loose 3 months of your life so get more active and try to eat a healthier balanced diet. Lots of fruit and veg, less fryed stuff and you and your family will all benefit, your kids will be able to concentrate better and you should start to loose weight. Breast feeding is also recommended over in GB for new mothers as it has health benefits to your chid in that antibodies are passed onto them and you also shift the weight of pregnancy quicker by doing this. Don't know if it's too late for you to think about that as an option though.

the color: white and green
the crisp menthol smell and taste!
although i don't like the way my hair and clothes smell, my kids watching me smoke.(not around them, only outside) the price of a pack!
they have their pros and cons. but i don't drink or do drugs, no hobbies. smokin is my only escape rite now.

skreech-- i was breast feeding, i stoped to take diet pills. later found out the pills where a farse. i lost 2inches on my hips and 2 on my waist. no pounds though. did it for 4months. sorry i stopped, now my daughter is having problems pooping. sunday i felt like i watched her give birth to a poop. horrible. poor thing. (she's doing better now. hinney hole is healing)

I am sorry, but there are no pros with smoking. It is a myth that they are a "stress buster". They increase the heart rate, hence do quite the reverse to calm you down. They increase stress hormones!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exercise increases the heart rate too, but will lower the resting heart rate. That is the best stress-buster.
My sources for saying that being ten stone overweight is better than smoking is common sense. You can safely loose 10 or so pounds a month, more if being monitored by the doctor. Therefore you can loose 10 stone easily in 12-18 months. The effects of smoking take at least TEN YEARS to completely heal the heart etc.
ALLO5775, if you want to see your children's children stop smoking now. It is by far the most single worse thing you can do. Even soldiers fighting in Iraq facing enemy insurgents on a daily basis have lower life cover premiums than smokers!!!!! (assuming the soldiers do not smoke).
Also, your children are 70 percent more likely to smoke if their parents do. You are therefore giving your children the right to have cancer. Is this wise? Sorry to sound harsh and accusatory, but such is the depth of destest, I have for this foul habit.

Smoking is hard to quit. I tried at the weekend and I couldn't do it. I felt like I was on drugs, really agitated, lightheaded, almost psychotic! It wasn't enjoyable and my brain is telling me that I have made the correct choice in keeping it up. It's my heart and lungs that want me to quit and I'm afraid I don't have the will power nor the impetus to do so at the moment. i am only 24 just now so I reckon I can afford it for a little while longer!
