under active thyroid

HI i have never been on medication for an under-active thyroid but now on levothyrooxine 50mg i feel tired and drained. how long before i will start feeling better ? i know the dose can be changed every 3-4 weeks but the doctor said he would see me in three months, i am worried about weight gain because my body is sluggish.
