Till our pubs are clear of the smelly smokers, I can't wait, of course there'll still be some jam tarting but that's minor in comparison to the foul odour of your weed addicts. Are you looking forward or dreading? Smokers, how will you cope? Will you give up or puff on defiantly? Non smokers will you go outside with your sad addict friends or just wait inside while they have a fix?

I don't smoke, but don't really mind it going on in my vicinity as long as it's not being blown in my face! In fact it's just going to annoy me a bit, if I'm with mates in the pub, and they're disappearing off into little smokers cliques to have a fag outside.
I live in Scotland, where the smoking ban has been a huge success. Ok, you have the hold your breath as you go into or out of the pub, but that's a small price to pay. A lot of pubs have used this opportunity to redecorate, knowing that the cushions won't get burns in them, and the paint/wallpaper won't go yellow. There is even a new word up here called smirting - smoking and flirting. If you catch someone's eye and they go outside for a smoke, you follow, offer them a light, and Bob's your uncle, a conversation follows. I've heard from many a smoker that they're having more fun standing outside with other smokers. The downside is that smoke covered a multitude of sins, and a lot of pubs then smelled like sweat and farts.
I'm a non-smoker but most of my friends are smokers. I'm looking forward to not smelling of smoke (just beer!) when I come home, and actually my friends that smoke are too, and are using the ban as motivation to try and give up. (a lot of them only really smoke down the pub anyway!) I won't be outside with the smokers in the rain , I'll be sat inside feeling smug!
One of the pubs near me banned smoking inside about a year before the date for the ban was announced and it's busier than ever. (although it is more of a food pub)
I think it's quite a good idea to bring the ban in in the summer, get's the nicotine junkies used to being outside gently.

Farting - yes they have all had to install extractors as the people now are able to smell the stale beer and the toilets and the sick etc that the smoke covered up - you can now see what people really look like as well - whereas before they were in soft focus through the smoke - probably ended a few relationships!

Can't stand Smokers full stop, the selfish Barstewards.
I never needed the goverment to impose a ban before, i imposed one myself, it was called ''Fcuk off out my face''
Never really had a problem on saying this to smokers, call it bullying if you like, but when smokers light up in non-smokers faces without any consideration whatsoever, be prepared from a backlash especially if you came across me
