blocked fallopian tubes

(i have posted this elsewhere)...has anyone ever had a 'blocked' fallopian tube? i had it when i was about 15 and the pain was the worst i've ever experienced. the doctor just said 'it'squite common' and gave me some pills and it cleared up. then i got it again about 2 years later, again had some pills and everything was fine. i never thought to ask what exactly had happened to my body. now i'm worried about my chances of getting pregnant are. i was reading that blockaged cause scars to the tubes and can affect conception. i know i might not get pregnant straight away, but i feel dead worried about it.

I have a blocked tube too. I was told to live with it as it was one of those things. I was also told that there was only a slim chance of me conceiving.

I tried, unsucessfully, for about 5 years to get pregnant in a previous relationship.

In my present relationship I fell pregnant unexpectantly, but it wasn't meant to be. The loss of my baby had nothing to do with my blockage.

Hope this brings you comfort that you can still get pregnant, just might take a little longer than usual.

One blocked tube isnt so bad. You would just have better chance of conceiving when you are ovulating from the other side. I would have thought you are at a greater risk of ectopic pregnancy. When you want to try for a family, go and see your doctor and ask his advice.

When I went for fertility investigations, I had a laparoscopy and they injected dye through my tubes - the said that one was almost totally blocked. I was really down until we saw the consultant who said that it would not affect fertility too much - I got pregnant the next month! That was after a total of 2 years trying and I was 33 when we started trying. I think that stress is a bigger factor than the tubes. This should also not affect you if you needed to have in vitro (test tube treatment) so there are options.
