I can' t believe you're poking at the back of your throat with sharp objects. Why don't you go and see a doctor???
Imagine the damage you could do!!!
I used to get these before I had my tonsils out, but that is over 40 years ago.
I know it sounds yucky but I had crevices in my tonsils which used to trap food particles, uuugghhh, smelly as well.

nO PROBS NOW THOUGH, AND WITH TONSILS OUT CAN DRINK FASTER. sorry pressed caps in error

I went to the doctor about it ages ago and like Doc says it is like little pockets AND THEY DO SMELL.
I have had these also ! They are horrid, I dont seem to get them these days though, but had them alot in my 20s - I too used to winkle them out with a long pointed skewer though, being careful not to make myself gag ! Once they were gone they left a gaping hole -YUKKKY !

are they dangerous garner?
The biggest drama I have ever been involved in was when I nearly died from Quinsy. No exaggeration - at 24 I was in hospital for a week, admitted as an emergency, and was really very close to blood poisoning, or choking. Get it seen to!!
Question Author
I just had a quick browse on the net and I dont think it is quinsy. I have never suffered from tonsil problemsand the doc said it is nothing to worry about. Maybe ill go and see him again.

thanks for ur help anyway guys and gals...
nutgoneflake is right. a friend of mine nearly died in spain because he just wanted to carry on with the holiday!!! quinsy was diagnosed he was in a bad bad way.
quinsey is serious, your throat swells up, i had it couldn't breath or swallow, had to be rushed to hospital, get it checked.
It may not be quinsey now, but you could be likely to get it in the future. I used to get little white lumps on my tonsils at 10,11, but then later on I started to get recurring tonsillitis. This was a few years later, when I was 14, 15 and older. My massive quinsey drama happened at 24, and I had my tonsils out at 26, which is really late for that op. Doctors will avoid it at all costs, even in childhood now, when tonsil problems are more common, but with me it had been so serious that it had to be done. I was told that having it once greatly increases the likelihood of getting it again, but I was so relieved it was all over that i didn't go back to the doc. A few months later, I woke up with a sore throat, and by lunchtime my tonsils had swollen terribly again. The doc saw me as an emergency that day and I was convinced I was going to hospital again - it came on THAT fast. I had antibiotics straightaway and doc put me on the waiting list at the same time.

What I'm saying is - it may not be a problem....yet!! Get it looked at anyway xx
