Do you have a pretty good sense when it comes to knowing other people? Being judgemental, as bad as it sounds, is human nature and unavoidable, although sometimes, it Can be helpful!
So, are you usually right when it comes to your gut instincts, even if everyone around you thinks you were wrong??
yes I do. I have been known to say theres something wrong about them and people will say 'she's lovely' and a couple months later they have turned into nasty biatches. I'm a very good judge of character
I think I use my intuition for judging moods and what's going on between the lines with friends than anything else. I'm pretty good at that. I've been called an empath (whatever that is) by a few people.
I tend to take people as I find them. I think we all gravitate naturally to people we have something in common with anyway.
Yeah i think im a good judge of character, not so much like for instance on here, but meeting people face to face, i have always turned out to have the right gut feeling about someone, and others will say otherwise and id be like told you so.
Im also good at being able to tell when someone is lying especially by my family! i make out im psykick and they get worried lol
i would consider myself to be good at it, like for instance my friends now boyfriend i have never liked him yet she thinks i do , there is just something about him that i cant put my finger on and he really bugs me hes the type that is so immature and pathetic. Or on people that i have just met i can figure out after a few conversations if they are completely fake or just trying to hard to make conversation!!!
I do trust my intuition in certain circumstances but when it comes to character judgements I try not to make them as I have been proved so wrong. For example, that sickly sweet person who comes to work with you then turns out to be the backstabber from hell, I am sure we have all encountered them, then there are the people who you think you just cant stand but after time realise that they are indeed honest, true and a friend.
so I prefer to step back and just see what develops.
i also look at the body language and am very interested in it, i constantly look for toughing the nose to see if they are lying or the way the eyes go, for instance i could tell my son was lying this morning and he knew and had to admit why he was lying about.
The body language is a good tool to working people out i think.
Interesting that you mention body language, confused79, because that's part of it too ... it could be the verbal signs or just a feeling as well that send the warning bells off :S
I know people often say ''don't judge a book by its cover'' ... but sometimes you just get a bad feeling about some things even if you can't understand why (at the time).
I might just have a look about some books on body language, but then again might make me get a bit obsessed with it, ill be looking out for any signs and suspecting everyone lol.
Joking aside, im still good a susing out liers, one of the things i hate most are liers, i respect someone who has courage to own up and tell the truth, liers will never win in my book.
I feel that i can read the majority of people, no i'm not one of them glass ball merchants, i just feel i can read people, i also agree body language plays a big part in reading individuals.
I think the older you get, the wiser you become ie been around the block a few times, been their done that etc, so you half no whats coming so to speak
I have a very strong instinct which I follow. It's very good at helping me read people. Usually it's something obvious like "he/she looked at me funny" but other times it's just that people don't exude warmth. As though there is an ulterior motive there or they are thinking horrible things about you which shows in their body language on a subconscious level.
One think I never do is go on first impressions. I'm very willing to change my mind on that and always willing to accept that somebody might just be having a bad day!
