Work parties are bad, m'kay!

We recently had a work Summer BBQ. I'm in a new job role at work so decided to go along and try to get to know people.

So 78 free drinks later I was competing against the guys on the bungee-bouncy-castle, then climbing the flag pole to see if I could reach the top, then trying to pick up a shot glass from the ground using nothing but my teeth.

Do you think I gave my colleagues the right impression of a 34-year-old 'professional' P.A. to the Director?

What's the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to you at a work do?

the only impression you gave is that you know how to party. Good on you. I'm trying to rack my brains as to what has happened to me at parties, with the usual crew I am always the unfortunate girl that they try pick on and try it on with.
It might not count as it wasn't a works do but I once broke my toe- pretending to be Buffy the Vampire Slayer at a housewarming party one night, i kick boxed a wall.
That was extremely embarrassing, as walking was painful, and being slightly drunk (oh ok, thoroughly pi$$ed) I couldnt think of a good enough escuse to the other guests as to why I was hobbling, so I ended up repeating the sorry tale to all of them :-(
You have destroyed the illusion of the perfectly groomed and made up professional now Champagne!! (only joking ).

I sat on a glass wearing a white mini dress which involved masses of blood and a party wide search for some sticking plaster.
I turned up.

I just can't believe I showed my face. I'm ashamed of myself. I'm far too cool to go to work do's ;0)
I haven't dared go on a work night out at my current place of work because I would end up doing very similar things to you but failing miserably and damaging myself in the process.

I used to work in a bar though where every night any of us had off usually turned into an impromptu staff party, there are a multitude of the normal embarrassing tales to tell but the most painful was when we had all gone out and got exceedingly drunk and then rolled back to the pub we worked at cos the boys wanted to watch some boxing match at 4 in the morning. Spurned on by the match and alcohol me and my friend decided to have a boxing match of our own, what she failed to tell me was that she was some childhood martial arts champion back in Ireland and I got absolutely battered! Painful to both body and pride!
I dragged 2 female work colleagues into Legs 11, and made them watch me have a lapdance.

I also fell down some stairs, then tried to fight a work colleague because i thought he laughed.

I fell asleep at the Xmas dinner table, woke up, vomited in a champagne bucket, got carried to a room by 4 work colleague and cracked a rib in the process.

I don't seem to get invited anymore
Well let me reel them off in order..

Started at the company in June 06-

Oct 06 - Got plastered at a leaving do, got told off for shouting in the curry hours, took a colleague home to meet my family!
Oct 06 - Another leaving do, dinner and then just me and the guys left. Did dirty dancing with a colleague as the club was closing and the barman was sweeping the floor, passed out on colleagues sofa and woke up alone in morning and realised everyone left at 4am and I was unable to speak to they had to leave me there.
Dec 06 - Christmas party, threw up in toilets by 8pm, threatened to hit a manager, had a flirt, got put on the water by 10ish and was home in bed by 1am!
Apr'ish 06 - Showed a colleague a boob.... an actual boob!!

Since then there have been MANY a drunken Fridays after work... which include more abuse and throwing up!

Saturdays was the most recent! Hey ho!

The 'curry hours'. That's between 11pm and 3am isn't it, Rubes? :o)

The best line so far has to be, "...then tried to fight a work colleague because I thought he laughed." HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!

I was pretty proud of myself, bearing in mind that I fully expected to go along and then feel like a spare part and be home again by 9. Oh, and I beat 2 of the guys in the office on the bungee castle. Much to their disgust!!

It ended at 3am with myself, Lucinda from my team ('IT' girl by all means!) and 2 guys sitting outside. Us 2 girls had 4 hours of drinking on the guys (who had been working late) so we forced them to drink shots one after the other. *evil cackle*

Oh, and my boss was on 7-hour flight back to the UK the next day, hence I knew it was okay to let my hair down at the party. Hehe.

Hehehehehehehe. :oD
I have several.
Was sick at a christmas party with a company I used to work for. The worst bit was that it had been in a urinal because somebody was doing lines in the toilet and they had to put police tape up as I managed to block it with this dark brown mess from the extremely rich chocolate cake!
Outed a colleague from a different department to some of his close work mates.
Got sent home during our last shift before our christmas night out one year for a previous company I was working for having had 2 bottles of Buckfast during the shift and took it upon myself to answer the showroom phone and tell the customer how to correctly wire up her new washing machine when I should have put her onto a different department. Thing was I was a telesales employee and shouldn't even have been in the showroom! We later went to a lapdancing bar and got a lesbian lapdance with 4 female colleagues in tow and 2 other males and then got off with a 30 stone colleague that I worked with!
