Ok after a small joke about the gay pride march in blackpool things seem to have got out of hand and turned into a major differing of opinions between neilzulu and jack the hat.
so i was thinking.
im not homophobic , ive worked with some gays , guys and girls in the last few years and i find they can be fun and good company .
they can also be obnoxious sexist and extremely crude .
so the question is if theyrte just like us with all our faults then do they slag off " straights" in the same way some " straights 2 slag off "gays"?
and if they do , and i have known a few gays who were very HETROPHOBIC( though thats not a real word but explains what i mean quite adequately ) are homophobes better or worse than hetrophobes or are we all just as nasty about each other no matter what our sexuality?
so is it ok to be homophobic to the extent you say you object to it , but not to the extent of committing violence or descriminating against folk.
or is it totally wrong to even think homosexuality is wrong ?
and if we are just as bad then is it wrong to voice an opposing opinion ?
in a democracy where does freedom of speech or expression stop and control of the masses start ?

( hope this makes sense .)

It is just as stupid to make jokes/remarks about 'hetties' as it is about 'homos'.

Although the predominance of 'hetties' would ensure that any such comments are really just gnats at elephants; comments about 'homos' have more weight behind them.

It is surprising just how many 'non believers' will turn to the bumper book of fairy tales as authority for their prejudice.

In the same way that society is slowly coming round to the fact that racial discrimination is wrong, so hopefully, in time, it will come to accept that discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation is wrong.

By all means, hate me because I'm a vain, shallow, capricious, argumentative, etc. but please not because I bat for the other team.
I amfriends with two girls who are in a commited relationship, they have been together for over five years, and I have never known them to be hetrophobic (if that is a word).
In short NO. Why should I accept perverse sexual practices as being normal.

There is a chap iin my local who is a queen ( his words , and I do mean queen) who is obsessed with talking about firemens genitalia.

How dare they hijack the word gay which once had a charming meaning. It is just a dirty word now.

Can we change categories please from hetties and homos to "normal" and "abnormal".
Makes much more sence.
Yes, those queers, eh Doc ? Filthy word-stealers.........
How often were you given to using 'gay' with all its charming connotations before we stole it ? And which one of us, exactly, would you like to pint the finger at for this treacherous act ?
How dare they talk about Firemen's kn0bs when all you blokes want to talk about b00bs, tut tut.

So he's a queen...................and ?

I am not homophobic, couldn't care less what consenting adults get up to and fully support the civil partnership laws.

However, just as I accept that sexual orientation is 'the way people are' and 'natural to them' I also accept that some people are genuinely repulsed by homosexuality and lesbianism.

That is 'just the way the are' and they are as much entitled to their feelings and beliefs as anybody else.

Doesn't mean they can be aggressive or obnoxious to people thoughl.

Exactly, Ethel !

I reserve the right to be as aggressive and obnoxious as everyone else on this forum.

All I would ask is that people examine the reasons behind their 'repulsion', which sadly (Doc) they usually fail to do. They have decided that they do not like it and will brook no argument or discussion about it.
As I was breastfed that is probably where the fascination originated from.

I have no experience of a firemans kn0b.

When young I read many a book with the phrase " she wore a gayly coloured scarf" etc.
I am sorry ,I can never see 2 fellers in bed as normal.

The idea of marriage, ie, Elton and Furnish is totally ( in my narrow view) preposterous.
People who are outwardly homophobic always have something to hide.....

I shared a flat with a gay guy for 18 months and had no problems whatsover, he knew which side my bread was buttered so we never had a problem. He knew when he was 5 that he was different so what is the problem?

A gay guy talking about fireman, me talking about nurses - the difference being what exactly.

Live and let live for fu*8s sake
Well, that would explain it !

You read a book which contained the word 'gayly', which is strange because it's spelt 'gaily', but let's not be sidetracked...........

I would imagine that you have had much (probably too much) experience with your own kn0b and that is a 'primary' source of fascination, in its own right.
Nice try jack. No I was too busy in my younger years playing Doctors and Nurses, discovering what the different bits were really meant to be used for.

What were you up to, doctors and doctors no doubt.
The difference Rev is that one conversation is normal. The one about men and nurses (female ones of course)
The acid test is this. If on TV there is a scene where same sex couples snog I am filled with revulsion and have to turn away.

Are there any ( non queer) men out there who feel the same ?
Justification for bigotry via games of 'Doctors and Nurses'; crikey, Doc, you have impaled me on the spike of your rigourous intellectual wit...........
Just because you are filled with revulsion, doesn't make it wrong, you stupid little man.
Spelt rigorous wrong jack.

Apologies, Doc.
I must admit that I find the sight of two men kissing is quite repulsive but I don't really know why!!

I have no problems with homosexuals, I feel what they think and do in private is entirely up to them, I don't see why people get so worked up about, what difference does it make to anybody!!

As for lesbians, I think it should be positively encouraged encouraged and can I watch please?

All this gay bashing is so pathetic it is beyond belief!!!
Question Author
getting back to the point.

jack .

if you are indeed gay , as you profess tobe .

i assume you know some gay men /women can you tell us if any of them have made any overtly hetrophobic coimments?

no wonder you cant get a woman youre so fat.even i wouldnt sh*g you and im queer.

you cant get a guy cos youre so plain.even a dyke wouldnt go down on you youre so ordinary.

he thought it was womens work to make coffee as well.

he was ranked quite highly on the " bitch scale " where i worked.

was he just an oddity ?
