I used to be into eating really sensibly and going to the gym 4/5 times a week.

I didn't go for the whole of August - personal commitments amongst other stuff but now I'm really starting to put on weight (not fat but getting slightly podgy again :o( lost a stone before and now its creeping back on slowly but surely!) Also I want to eat rubbish 24/7 and an old back injury is starting to niggle through lack of exercise.

I know that should be motivation in itself but I'm so tired I need shock tatics, a wake up call...which is where you could help!

I'm really struggling to get back into it guys and need your help! Any motivational pics/messages welcome, help!

Cheers peeps

No 4 or 5 :o )

I dont think the / came out very well.

Do you have any suggestions/shock tatics Hau Kola?
Suspect we are all in the same boat-I had been doing my daily 2-3 mile walk up until 3 weeks ago...now my teeth ache from eating so many sweets and my buddha belly is expanding!! not a pretty sight! maybe we should start an AB diet club( under Health and Fitness of course!)
river how great it is to know someone is in the same postion as i am. I too have plonked the weight on over the summer, ok, i've had great fun and eaten great food but my shock tactic was not being able to fit in to any of my clothes! How that depressed me! After eating lots of rubbish i was more than ready to go back to eating normally again, starting back up with my cycling and walking and have lots 5lbs in the firsy week! Honest the weight will drop off gradually as you get back to normal, don't panic about it too much! My advice is aim for once or twice a week at the gym for a while, easy ya self back in it! Good luck river.

Ok, good ans I'm booked into bodypump on Saturday and think I should go tonight. When I do go, I eat less as I feel bad about eating rubbish. I love the feeling of loosing the weight but as you have I've really enjoyed just chiiling from the routine and its hard to get in at 7pm go straight to the gym get home and then not have dinner/sit down until 945 - 10pm thats a long old day.

I walk and hour and half a day -to and from work but I think thats something my bodys got used to and it doesn't have any effect

Pastafreak i just read your post Yeah I think we should! Shall we try and drum up some interst or just start it and see how it goes? just keep it to one thread in H and F we can all motivate each other and have a weekly weigh in ;o )

...Who want to join?
I'll join!!!!
We started cycling as a family about June/July time and in the summer hols were cycling nearly every night and on a weekend. I have lost no weight whatsoever! Yes some may have turned to muscle and it weighs heavier etc.. but that doesn't make me feel any better!!! We went away last week only for 3 nights and I went straight back to my old ways and now am expanding out of my clothes and feel so so fat!
I'm back at work now which is probably good as running round a hot kitchen for 4-5 hours does burn a few calories but I'm just miffed the cycling hasn't showed any real improvements or helped me lose a bit of weight.

So where do I sign?.....
Buy a pedometer and do some brisk walking. It will count your steps and also tell you how far you have walked and how many calories you have burned. It is a great incentive. If you walk hard and find you've done say, 3600 steps, you will feel encouraged go for 4000, then 5000, and so on.

Take an ipod along and it is really rewarding exercise.
