I've been looking forward to this for so long now. We have been trying extremley hard not to get our hopes up too much just incase anything goes wrong but the excitment has taken over. My friend, who is now 5 months pregnant had a 'missed miscarriage' the first time and it was discovered when she went for her first scan. I know I shouldn't worry about things I cant change but I'm petrified at the thought of how I will cope if my scan produces the same result. I've read all the symptoms etc for miscarriages, but does anyone actually know how common a missed misscarriage is? I've been experiencing all the correct pregnancy symptoms and have even had to start wearing maternity trousers as none fit anymore. I know I keep going on about it, so I'm sorry, and I really dont mean to be insensitive to anyone who has experienced misscarriage. TIA

lease don't worry (easier said than done I know). A missed miscarriage happens to about 1% of pregnancies, so the chances of it happening to you are very slim. I've found this, but may I recommend you don't read it? Only worry you more!

Good luck (not that you'll need it though) you'll be fine, let us know how you get on xx

Hi mountainboo,
As Boo says, its about 1% so try not to worry yourself too much. Missed misscarriage does often follow some slight bleeding and pain.
Best of luck for the scan, its a wonderful experience so take tissues and some money to buycopies of the pics.
Ive got mine on the 28th so i do understand how you are feeling
