AnswerBank was started by the Daily Mail - the paper has a readers' question and answer slot, and it was seen as a way of getting material for the column.

Whether the Daily Mail still own it, I don't know.
I vote Ethel as the font of all knowledge, seen her on lots of Qs and she is just brilliant.
Answerbank was not invented. It evolved slowly and insidiously over the decades surrounded by the miasmic mists curling up from the primordial swamps containing cretinous creatures howling for answers to horrendous mind-boggling questions..................I joined shortly thereafter.
