I had a thing for the smell of burned match heads and petrol....although not at the same time obviously.lol.
My eldest son was probably made entirely out of chocolate soya milk, raw carrots and water sucked out of a flannel in the bath. My youngest - tomatoes and toasted sesame oil!

Hot cross buns stuffed with pickled onions - the golf ball size onions that make your eyes water
Sniffing a bottle of Campari - not drinking it, just sniffing
Dipping twiglets in horlicks powder
The smell porridge,oh god i`d be there for hours just smelling a big pan full of it,i didn`t eat it,i ate cold sausages and jam,or coleslaw and doughnuts!YUCK!
never been preggers wouldnt know
I loved the smell of wood when I was pregnant with my daughter. I even picked at the covering on the kitchen worktop so the wood showed through so I could smell it when I was making a cuppa
APART from food, sorry!! The flannel thing though, and now that I'm remembering these odd things, I loved the thought of sand in my teeth and was obsessed with finding something I could eat that would leave that gritty feeling behind. I had my eye on the pumice stone but worried about where it had been! It took a long time to get over it, because I didn't ever find anything to satisfy my craving...
Doh!I read it wrong as well...it was the smell of putty for me,loved it and soil,i worked at Homebase at the time so i had easy access to both! :)
Tomatoes, for me................and my Mum whilst she was expecting me, too......why we didn't come out with red-skins is beyond me..............but my son HATES tomatoes. He claims that he overdosed in-utero !

I worked with a girl who salivated at the smell of newly applied creosote..........her poor husband had to treat a garden fence panel every week right up until the end..........:o)
Oops, I read it wrong as well.
My craving for sniffing Campari was so bad, that one time I decanted some into one of those urine sample containers to carry around with me.
It makes me cringe to think about how this must have looked.
^^Ha-ha, i love that :)
nutflake you should have tried coal. both my grannies said they loved it when they were pregnant
And apparently, it was quite common for the schools' supplies room to start running short on blackboard chalk when there were pregnant lady teachers about............
pixi - it's weird isn't it? Coal is a common one but I never linked it to my craving at the time. I kept thinking of volcanic rock, or the black sand in Lanzarote, or red housebricks. (Gulp!) There would have been plenty of coal to eat here if I'd thought of it!!

Laughed my head off at the secret Campari sniffing mrs o, but best of all is cyanide and the soil. I could just imagine a customer looking for a member of staff to help them in Homebase and finding cyanide with her head in a growbag...lol lol!!
Ha-ha,trust me ...it happened! You were that customer weren`t you!!!!??

Thanks super replies. MRS_OVERALL just the thought of hotcross buns with pickled onions is making my eyes water and I am not pregnant lol.
Thanks all the reason I didnt say food was because it has been debated before but still nice to hear your comments.
Noooooo - I was the one who gave you a tissue to wipe the putty off your nose!!!
I don't know about cravings, but both times when I was pregnant, the smell of perfume had me retching constantly.
I could not be near anyone who was scented and that posed a problem for me.
Even today, I can only wear light perfumes.
Ha-ha-ha! :))
jars and jars of pickled onions....it's so strange now as my daughter eats loads of them, I loved the smell of a car exhaust, not very good for you I know but I just loved the smell of the fumes.
