Following on from something someone said in tv section. if you were about to sleep with someone and they then told you they had aids would you continue if you were using condoms?

Yes it is a thought. Another thing to consider is that this guy is also in a long term relationship with a guy who doesn't have HIV or AIDS ~ they are in a 'full' relationship too, so they obviously don't see his illness as a problem.
I find it strange that they have an open relationship..but I suppose as one of them has AIDS they aren't bothered about catching a disease..each to their own I suppose.

I am aware that AIDS/HIV affects all sorts (as I said) but I really do not see me sleeping with an African peasant woman in the forseeable future.
The facts are that an estimated 6 percent of sexually active men in the UK are gaylords, yet 75 of all HIV sufferers are gay men.
If that is not a predominant statistic, I am glad I am stupid.
I will stand by my guns and say if you are a gay man who sleeps around or a straight man who sleeps around, you are at a MUCH HIGHER risk being a gaylord from HIV/AIDS.
And that includes a man who has bum fun with ladies as well.
Where is the problem with that statement of fact?
And I find catholicism offensive at times!!!!

Whilst I am a fan of Stephen Fry, the fact a gaylord presented the show, kind of proves my point.
I did not see it, and have no knowledge of its content so may be barking up the wrong tree.

AIDS is near enough a Gay disease. The vast majority of women with it (in this country and not the 0.0000000001 perecnt through a blood transfusion) have received it from a bi-sexual man OR sharing a needle for heroin where at the end of the chain there is a gaylord or a bi-man.

Your first paragraph regarding the african peasant basically sums up as 'it doesn't effect me so lets not bring that in to the equation.' Great argument.
Statistics can be used to prove anything, however, let me address this logically.... This could possibly be because HIV is easier for a man to pass on than a woman. Hence male to female or/and male to male is an easier method of passing on the virus.
For your 'gay lord' being more at risk of HIV comment, please see above reasoning.
Bum fun as far as I'm aware has bu88er (pun intended) all to do with it. It's just another method of passing on the virus like sharing needles, blood transfusions etc... basically unprotected bodily fluid contact with a person who has HIV but I'm willing to be corrected on this if someone knows differently.
My main problem is the way you pontidicated on the subject and then act like there is nothing offensive or ignorant about what it is you have said. I know sometimes you're tongue in cheek, heck I've even stood in your corner once or twice and got a nice pixel backlash for it... but your arguments here can be shown (hopefully I've done that) as both shallow and frankly ill informed.
