Hi , do you have a collection of anything ? It may be something you have avidly collected over the years , or maybe been given as presents . If so , is your collection out on display or hidden in the garage or attic ? :-)

.....nearly forgot my large collection of wicker baskets hanging from the rafters in the utillty room & his collection of Tilly lamps hanging from the rafters in the garage!

He doesn't just collect Tilly lamps, but if I listed all his, I'd be here 'til the early hours, bless him! -x-
Hi bigmamma,
I collect wooden drinking vessels, Tankards, Goblets etc, the only deviation is that some can have brass rings or/and handles,
For me, its like stamp collecting, because I like to find out where in the world they were made, how old they are, and the wood they are made from.

Excellent question.

Hello pastafreak , that is a fine collection you have , I love boxes too but do not have even one , I just look at them and admire. Gosh , you really have a jug from 1844 , I expect you have to look after its safety closely .
I don't know for sure but I think I may be the only woman who doesn't own a cookbook . :-)
Hi Laurence2 , you have a fine collection choice , you really have to keep your eyes open for antiques and look in everywhere from car boot sales to fine antique shops I guess. :-)

HI bigmamma, nice to see your back to your old self!

I have a collection of toys. I never intended on collecting them, and still dont try collecting them. Over the years the collection has grown and started to spill all over the house. Now there are toys in nearly every room. Actually, the only room theyre not in is the toilet! Despite my efforts to tame the ever growing collection, it will never happen.

Every christmas and birthday....more appear!

I know its only going to get worse too......when there are two kiddies in the house getting them!
bigmamma.

Tell me about it.

It can cost us an arm & a leg at times, but its something we really enjoy.

And yes, we do the car boots as well as the more expensive joints,

Rocking chairs, chime clocks, to WW1 & 2 memorabilia to smaller items like cut-throat razors poole pottery & a stack of old bibles some in the 1830's with messages to loved ones in them.

Welcome back
I have a collection of the little Swarowski crystal animals but unfortunately nowhere to put them any more so they are all tucked away in a box.
I used to collect ball bearings for some reason when I was younger but I don't know where they all went!
I like my mom have an obsession with ornamental clocks, I didnt notice until someone mention that he had never seen so many clocks in one house before :D

oops...:)
I used to collect bookmarks and made sure I bought one from everywhere I went (with the places name on it) but never used or displayed any of them so stopped that now, they are all in a wooden box tucked away under a shelf!
Hj bigmamma-the 1844 jug was already cracked and repaired when I got it so only cost about 5 instead of 500! but I love it anyway...the pouring spout is a grinning face! If you want any cookbooks I will sell you some of mine-lol
Im getting a strange urge to go on ebay now....!!

Petal~flower it's a good job you added the word little as I guess you mean the toy size ones :-)
Lol Psychick , don't you just find it amazing how toys find themselves all round the house and multiply , don't worry , wait until your children are wanting money and are selling their old unwanted toys as they grow older. Apart from some that were given to the Childrens ward my sons toys from his chidhood are long gone , now he seems to have all the technical gear at his own place . Now it's dog toys I trip over ! :-) Oh and , yes I am my grey self again.
I should suggest that to her now! lol She can sell toys and make her own money! She would never go for it though.......she still has baby toys because she wont let me get rid off them!

Cazzz , lol ebay awaits ......tick tock ...I think my stepfather has 6 clocks in one room , maybe he can be a collector .
That's true , I remember someone when my mum was alive , remarking how my plates she had on the walls and asked her if she collected them , bless her , she said , " No , not really , I just buy them if I like them and my husband buys me them " .:-)
Laurence2 , keep searching , and enjoy :-)
Bensmum , thankyou yes , back again . Your crystal animals sound very cute and precious :-)
Hello sophie , just think , in years to come you, or a relative, will open that box and find it interesting looking at all of the bookmarks you collected :-)
