Tablets never work for me - I use a nasal spray and eye drops. These are available @ the docs or in boots and work quite well, for me anyway.
It has been bad the last few days hasn't it. I like zirtek but i have tried almost everything. Triludan, pyriton, clarytin, beconase, eye drops. problem is most of them send me to slee..........zzzzzzzzzzz.
Your body will build a tolerance to the drugs if you use them for a long period....try rotating three types on a weekly basis if you have really bad rhinitis...the other option is the homeopathic one where you actually dose yourself with pollen and eat local honey....does work but can take a while to build up so it may be to later for this year.
If you want an alternative remedy then you need to start much earlier in the spring, march at the latest. My husband uses "Luffa Complex", "Quercetin" and 2gm Vit C daily and it works for him. Last year he was terrible without it, but this year it has worked a treat. These are all available from good health food stores.
I too have been using the Boots one-a-day tablets, but last night I hardly slept for all my sniffing and eye rubbing (woke up looking like a panda). My hayfever seems to be worse in the evening, but I don't know why that is. Last year i used the Boots melt in the mouth ones, i think they were better, so it might be worth giving them ago (although they are more expensive than the regular Boots ones). Good luck and let us know if you find a remedy!!
It is worse in the evening as warm air rises during the day taking the pollen with it. at night when it starts to cool down the pollen comes down to ground level and pi$$es us all off !!!
Ahhh.....now i know. Thank you ned!
I have found homeopathy works wonders. You need to see a qualified homeopath not just buy something yourself.
