On Sunday night just before bed Im sure I felt a very light kick from the inside. Then on Monday night my partner put his ear to my tummy and felt what he thought were a few kicks. Then last night he put his ear to my tummy again and I felt it too. During the night it also felt like something moving inside - which could be attributed to the baby moving about. This morning my partner put his ear to my tummy and every time he made a noise there was a light kicking sensation and its been on and off like that all day. Does that sound about right to you, as it's still very early on and I wasn't expecting to feel something quite so clear at this stage? TIA

Congratulations mountainboo-it is quite likely. 16 weeks is about the earliest and of course you could be a bit further along than you think. Get used to it as you will soon realise you have a little powerhouse in there!! Best wishes to you xx

Thanks very much pastafreak. I know he's growing at a huge rate and is very active now, but it is surprising just how much I do feel
its not impossible. First babies it can be anywhere between 16-22 weeks really. the kicks feel like tiny pops like bubbles

Just wait til they are really strong kicks, your chap wont want to put his ear near then lol
I would say it is very likley you're both feeling the first kicks, and like red has said, they will definately get stronger and harder! Give it a few more weeks and you may be able to relax in a bath and see ripples caused by baby movements, providing baby is awake at the time of course! 16 weeks is when a lot of expectant mothers can feel movements although some can feel it sooner. Your partner is very lucky to be able to share this with you so soon, its not easy for someone else to feel anything when you first start feeling things.
I loved being pregnant!
though my partner called my bump ET as my belly would shape shift right up in to a point.
My partner hated when i put my belly in to his back because the baby always kicked at night.

But all the best enjoy being pregnant!!
