Its so unfortunate that our media shapes our opinions of society. Its a powerful subliminal tool. Our natural inclination is to want to place ourselves in the lives of the characters we see on film. In some ways, this is why Rene Zellweger became so popular in Bridget Jones Diary.
This obsession with our bodies takes on further dangerous angles when people follow the cosmetic surgery path. Ive had a poor soul sit with me, saying she was going to have her bust size increased because she simply wasnt attracting men. Bless her heart, what she really needed was a Dale Carnegie course on confidence, much more than she needed plastic breasts. But I was certain no surgeon, who was to profit from her insecurities, was going to be so truthful.
As for the drugs, there are many things that lure people to take drugs. Each of them has the same end-result.
