Have these people left? I mean have they left without even a goodbye? Did neither bother to say "I'm off and won't be back again" or did I miss their final goodbye messages? Both were handy for answering questions in what posts they replied to, and suddenly they are not here anymore and I wonder if whether they were polite enough to post a goodbye message or whether I missed their last post., or whether they were banned or simply left AB without even a nice "goodbye"

If Father Bill is a fake, he fooled me. And given the fact I have the greatest criminal mind since Sherlock Holmes, I am not easily fooled.

Is there any real proof he is a fake, or are people just amazed at what he professes?

His advice has always sounded good to me, much of which is not necessisarily Christian laden.

Bewlay - I contacted the Church that he claims to belong to.

The email I received back was enlightening and said Bill is not connected to that Church or the Anglican Church,

Bill made veiled light threats to sue me for libel - I said bring it on,

Write with a delicate tongue and perfect diction on a myriad of issues??

Most trolls come on here and say

There were so many people on here who actually did want to hear his words of comfort and wisdom so to speak, but he chose to ignore certain posts repeatedly.
Okay, we all have the choice to post where we like, but he did tend to have certain people he answered, and totally blanked the rest.

One of the fairly recent posts V V posted telephone numbers didn't he? Has anyone rung 'em?

Personally, I couldn't care less whether he's associated with a church or not, i just know I found his posts to be a little patronising a little bit too goody goodyish, twee and wayyyyy too long for my simple brain to compute. That being said though, I've nowt against him- I just found the almost hero worshiping of him to be a little odd.

To be honest, Pippa, I was always sceptical about him - but I don't care who claims to be what or where on the whole as long as they don't do harm.

There was a trigger that rang real alarm bells for me and that is when I contacted the Church.

Pippa -its not a mission to investigate ABers -we all know that behind each name could be a notorious murderer or maybe a member of royalty -its the way he went about it.Posting his good deeds and trying to fox us with the Grape story.
If no-one is at al suspicious of 'cults' and such like and the way they recruit their members then they have been living in a vacuum for years.
Where on earth do you think those types get their money to subsidise their lavish lifestyles -why do apparently lucid people leave copious amounts of money or donate monthly to the 'church'.
I am merely musing -not accusing.

I guess it is feasible that some perfectly eloquent and patient people have the capacity to string people along, weave a web of untruths, and then come back and read these threads.

I think my main point is that I don't understand the energu that goes in to disliking and/or trying to figure out who people are and whether they're genuine or not.

However I do take the point the VV did indicate he was actually someone else and made no secret of it and I can understand why Dris says what she did about religion and duping. I'm generall of the same opinion. It's just that despite disagreeing with every word VV said in religion and finding the oldgrape thing odd but plausible I didn't really think that VV did or said anything bad that warrented condemnation or high praise a I already stated.

Does that make any sense?

If Fr Bill is fake he is worse than all the trolls because he targets the vulnerable. I am a bit sceptical but rarely read his full posts because he is a bit 'flowery'

To be honest I didn't read all of VV's posts as like BOO I went blind after the 15th paragraph ;o)

All I was wondering was what I asked Ethel ~ a long winded, maybe quite boring, post or thread from someone doesn't always necessitate a delve into history or contacting people outside AB.

I have had my doubts about a few ABers, but have never felt the need to do this. I wondered what set alarm bells ringing, but you have clarified..thanks :o)

I echo the sentiments about "chasing" people up. You all know the trouble I had with the Welsh thing when she published my address etc and threaten to kill me.

But if somebody is pretending to be a "vicar", I suppose it is a different kettle of fish. And if asking for monies for a charity, well!!!!!!!

Likewise, I have it on very good authority that Pippster is infact the busty barmaid at The Hare and Hounds on Portland Road, Worthing and she knows me when I show up there.

But then again, she may not be.
