recently the front side of my right thigh has started to feel a little bit numb every now and then. It mainly happens when I am laying down or sitting at the computer.

Does anyone know what this could be? Could it just be bad circulation? Most of the time my feet are very cold.

I hope I won`t alarm you as I have Diebeties Type 2 and have the same problem as you. It is poor blood circulation as mentioned by gravytate but due to me being on warfarin the doctors don`t think it serious enough to operate. I just give my legs a good rub to get the blood going again.
Oh god, thank goodness someone else has this too !
I have the same problem with my left upper leg. If I am sitting or laying in the same position for more than 5 minutes it goes completely numb. Scared now as I have high cholesterol (although it has been lowered with statins) I was tested for diabetes last year and was given the all clear. Perhaps I should have another blood test :-(
It could also be a trapped or pinched nerve from the lower spine. Sciatica can cause pain, tingling or numbness in the thigh. Best to see a doctor though to get it checked out.
I had an area just above my knee which was as if it had been anaesthetised. I went to the doctor who said it could have been due to nerve damage which would slowly right itself, and she has been right. It must have been about a year or so before this feeling went away.
