Tired
15 Answers
Just lately I have been so bloody tired it is really getting me down :( I have fibromyalgia which causes tiredness and lack of energy but its not normally this bad, and Im not sure thats whats causing it. I am eating properly and having lots of sleep and resting when Im not busy or working. Would vitamins help or something like that? I don't want to take pro plus or any of the energy drinks cos they just give me a banging headache.

Orange juice
Lemonade
1 tsp Piracetam (import from USA via Ebay)
One tab Ginseng
One tab Guarana
Vitamin Tablet
1 tab Gingko
Get enough sleep, but not too much, same time of day, and up at the same time. Get exercise, plenty of light (lightbox if necessary).
Good luck, I know it sucks.

hi pixi ye if you go on ebay dot com and search there there is a guy selling it in bulk, works out 30 for 4 month's supply. It works. A web search will show all the benefits. You need a prescription for it in the UK,but like all prescription drugs, you can import it in personal quantities for personal use. Good luck!
Hi meredith, I had a quick google of Piracetam before my earlier post and saw from the links it fetched up it was a supplement but I never had time to have a read about it. I just been and done that now and saw that its believed to aim/improve memory. My memory is rubbish (another fibro effect) so if it works that'll be a real bonus :D
I think if I see my doc he may prescribe it for me, I'm not sure I could get it off ebay cos my paypal account was hacked years ago and I've never dared make another.
Thanks for all your help :D

My wife had to pack her job in about 10 years ago due to fibromyalgia, ( fact is she burn't herself out doing too much!!) She has real bad spells where she has not even got the energy to get out of bed and her body vibrates really bad , She longs to go back to work but who would employ someone who is fine for 3 weeks , over does it and then is ill for a week ?? We have over the years tried every wonder cure there is going , paid the prices and tried them , if it works for you then use it , the symptoms vary so wildly it is extremely difficult to compare the same illness, anyway best of luck keep positive as I think that is better than any pill the doctor can prescribe.....
Aw pal, poor you, you sound exhausted and that's with a good sleep. I suppose you've tried loads of things.
Try drinking plain warm water first thing in the morning instead of tea/coffee. Have fruit for breakfast even add it to cereal, bananas and pineapple are great. Snack on fruit throughout the day even try some vicks or peppermint oil on a hanky and inhale as deep as you can gives you a buzz of energy. Drink water, water and more water honestly it works, ask haysi; I sleep about 3-4 hours a night and I'm fully functional during the day....a guy gave me this advice and so far it's worked. If I'm honest I'm still a bit tired but not as half as I used to be. I hope you sort it out soon pix, there's nothing worse.

hi tufty, thanks for your reply. Im sorry to hear your wife has it too. Its crap that one day you can be okay and the next be floored with the fibro. I sympathise with your wife, I totally understand that the days she is okay she would love to go back to work. I struggle a lot on the days I dont feel too good and I honestly don't know how I get through the 4 hours I work.
I too have tried all sorts of stuff without success, the strong painkillers I have been prescribed over the years give me migraine or sickness so its a waste of time taking them. Has your wife tried Feldene (piroxicam) painkilling gel? Its only available on prescription, its not brilliant but is better than taking tablets for the achiness (doesnt touch the pain much though)
I agree about being positive, sometimes I think its only that and laughing a lot that gets me through the day. I am lucky to be blessed with a family of barmpots who keep my spirits up all the time :)

hi san, thanks for all your suggestions :D
I only drink tea normally but I think I will give drinking lots of water a go. My husband drinks tons of water and he too only gets about 4 hours sleep a night and he flies through a 12 hour day of really psychically (sp?) demanding work, then comes home still bouncing with energy.
I keep saying I will eat more fruit too but I go on a fruit spree then fall back on sweets (i get huge sugar cravings as ya prolly know lol)
I wouldnt have thought of putting stuff on an hanky but we have peppermint oil and olbas oil in the house so I am gonna give that a go too.
I hope you are feeling loads better now xxx

aw pixi, hi....I had no idea you were feeling so cr4ppy, having seen you on here 'sounding' so cheerful I though you must be ok.....but we all do it, dont we?
I wish I had a magic potion for us all & I do the same as you - I try hard to drink water but tea's so much er.... better! & my five-a-day is often 5 strawberry creams, hehe....does that count?
I've had a pretty tough time recently too, not helped by the weather. A sunny day makes me feel brighter, well one that's not blowing my foggy brains out that is! And I'll be glad to shed a few layers when I go out....does your coat ever feel like it's lead lined?
Sorry I'm not being much help, but a (cyber) friend in need & all that......is a bl00dy nuisance, having to do all this typing, hehe....at least you can switch 'em off :o)
btw, I replied twice to your pm but I'm not sure it went....I probably didn't bang the submit key down hard enough!
all the best to your wife tufty - what you've written about her could be about me - I call that feeling buzzing & awful as it is it's reassuring to know others feel the same & it's not imagination!

hi robinia, sorry to hear you havent been too good either :( I hope you are feeling better soon :)
lol at me sounding cheerful on here, you can usually tell if Im really crappy cos I just give out stars to replies and answer in one sentence rather than gabble on as normal.
I know what you mean about coats feeling lead lined, sometimes my skin feels the same way, I guess you get that too :(
aww robinia, you are and always have been a big help :D You were one of the first people I talked to on here who had fibro and the HMS and it was brilliant to talk to someone who knows what Im on about. Most people I know outside family and good mates havent even heard of either condition.
I just got your pm :D I always forget to sign into the sports bit :s lol no change there then
