I would like to know why does your teeth feel as if it �fell asleep� while we are sleeping too

Cinderelli, thanks for getting back. I thought this question would prove to be a stupid one. It's just that when we get up in the mornings it feels that our teeth are not fresh or even after a snooze this might happen. Is it perhaps to do with the chemicals inside the root canal of the teeth? It's a bit hard to explain and perhaps no-one has notice this before. I'll probably have to ask a dentist myself :o)
I heard that the decrease in saliva production during sleep plays a part in that "dead-mouth" feeling.
