Hi everyone - I need some up to date advice on hair straighteners. I've not used them before but I tried a friends the other day and thought I'd buy a pair. My hair is fine and has hightlights and lowlights through it, it's reasonably straight but has a few waves after washing. There seem to be so many on the market. But which ones will keep my hair in the best condition and also what's the best protection spray to buy. Thanks very much in advance everyone.
I've got wet 2 straight gold straighteners.. i've also got dyed hair and lowlights and they keep my hair in fine condition even though I've used them everyday for the past year and a half... make sure you condition and use some sort of protection on your hair too.
GHDs are the best I've ever tried (and I've tried a lot!), but they are pricey so try and borrow someone elses for a day to see if they work for you
As for protecting sprays, I don't use any and my hairdresser constantly tells me how good condition my hair is in but when i go on holidays I use the charles worthington one in the flat bottle
as a hairdresser, I recommend GHDs. i always said i would never spend that much on a pair of straighteners but after using them in the salon i can see the benefits. The plates seal your hair so it is smooth and less damagig to the ahir. unlike most straighteners you can just go over the hair once rather than a few times
as for the ones that blew up, that was a faulty batch ghd made in somethign like 2004/5 and theres been no problems since. the good thing is if something does go wron with them ghd will replace them/.
ghd also do a heat spray so its the best one to use
