Scalp psoriasis

Has anyone found a replacement for Alphosyl lubricating cream (non HC) which is available off prescription and actually works? My doctor prescribed Betnovate which I am unhappy to use as it is a steroid. Pharmacists seem unable to help.

I had scalp psoriasis until about 2 years ago when I started using Head & Shoulders Intensive Treatment shampoo. It came in a dark blue bottle and the active ingredient was selenium sulfide.
It worked wonders!
Unfortunately I haven't been able to find it on the shelves since, and there's no evidence of it on the H&S website either.
Perhaps the pharmacist or doctor can find it??

Dovonex Scalp is probably the best around (at the moment! ) Don't worry about the steroid - there's been a lot of scaremongering going on over the years about steroid use, but it's safe to use, if you follow the instructions & whatever you do, don't use it constantly!! The problem is that it can cause skin thinning if used all the time, but as I said, if it's used as per the manufacturer's instructions, it's fine (they wouldn't have got a licence for a medicine that's not safe and steroids have been around for decades).Have another chat to your doctor, but really, betnovate will help to clear up the problem really fast, just use it properly!
