Hi again carlyon bay.Pleased to hear that you are still progressing. 3 months is still early days to be back to completely normal. I did not have swolIen ankles after 3 months but still had aches and pains when tired and most annoyingly still walked a bit lop sided. It must have been after about 8 to9 months later that I suddenly realised I was walking really well and no longer aching. Now it will be 2 years in August and I forget now that I have an artificial hip.I am 68 and love having no pain. I am sure you will be fine given time.Every case is different but I am sure exercise which you do will help you greatly.
Patsyann is spot on, 3months is much too short a time to assess success or otherwise. Some people take 6 months to recover, some take 6yrs. Minor aches and pains are a small price to pay for ridding that dragging continual pain of osteoarthritis of the hip. I had a cemented hip 25yrs ago and the opposite hip replaced 20yrs ago and apart from a few aches and pains, I am totally satisfied. BE PATIENT and good luck.
