No. Racism means taking a dislike to someone purely on the basis of their ethnic origins - it is a proactive attitude. Lack of attraction to any particular race is fine - actively pursuing it by word or deed and advising people that you are not attracted to someone simply because they are black or Asian, and for no other reason, then that is racist.

Thank you andy...
You're welcome.
Seems to me that it's like saying if you don't fancy blondes you're being hair-ist.

I see your point its just that it came up in conversation and a friend made a throw away comment but I tend to take things to heart and was worried that I was in a way being racist, being in a minority myself I was worried I was being a hypocrite
Ah, don't worry about it. I'm not remotely attracted to black or Asian people either. I figure it's just a case of each to their own and there's a good reason for that - so we all find someone! or hopefully anyway!

Thank you Nicola...
If you are a man and fancy women you're not a necessarily a homophobe are you.

Like I said before I kinda worry over silly things all the time thank you anyway jamie...
Don't worry about it! We all have different tastes! I prefer middle aged men compared to guys my age (early 20's!). I do not find men attractive in that race, but i'm not racist and would have no trouble talking to them - my Doctor is dark and he's lovely!
No. I have never fancied any black men (although it is possible to tell that some are more attractive than others).
So...? Out of George W. Bush or Denzel Washington, you'd pick the oldie?

No not at all. Most of My friends find black men attractive and although sometimes they are i normally don't, they seem to like all black men and as soon as they see someone with black skin they go ''Oh he's gorgeous'' just because he has black skin. I mean you don't look at white guys and go ''oo look he's white'' Yea that just bugs me, but I am in no way racist I believe that everyone should be treated equally. Also the fact that you said sorry twice in your question proves that you aren't a racist, otherwise why would you care if you offended anyone?
if you live in America, you see some asian Hotties. i had an Asian girlfriend, she was cute and pretty. Blacks i'm not attracted to them at all. also consider the half black half white or what i call tanned, they're not bad!
That would be like saying if someone was NOT attracted to anyone... they're racist to their own colour skin etc. But its only racist if you dislike people that are different colour skin than you.
Your not a racist you just have different taste. I personally love black and puerto rican men but that doesnt seem to work with others.
Well i'm mixed race and I prefer men with blonde/strawberry hair and it's not that I'm not attracted to black men, but have only had encounters with other mixed race men and I'm definitely not racist!
Yeah, what everyone else said. I'd like to add that pc terms are a load of bull-hockey. Not all african americans are african, not all of them were slaves, not all of them are black! as for the other nationalities (asian/oriental, hindu-muslim/middle eastern, russian/sneaky mother ******), well most of them don't really care. Only the american ones. I don't find myself attracted to any morbidy obese (ie. fat) people. That doesn't mean I can't befriend them.
