I had a guy come to my home and do some testing and I have to admit the results were pretty accurate, even picking up things like horse hair which do cause me a problem.

Think he was from Medica Nutrition.
I asked a question a while back, will find it for you.
SRH from AB Feb 2008. Elimination Tests for Food allergys are the only reliable tests and have to be done by Specialists in that field. Food allergys are not blood protein "(mmunoglobulin" mediated (provoked) which means that blood tests for food allergies are USELESS. Also skin tests for food allergys are USELESS. It is not surprising that he picked up your horse hair allergy as he used skin tests and they are relevent in inhaled allergies e.g grass pollens and horse hair. Your Cheshire "Nutritionist" may be an expert on food allergys, but not with skin tests or blood tests, but only with food elimination tests which tend to be lengthy and tedious.
I had it done and thought it was a load of rubbish and a waste of money. There are certain thing that I know have a bad effect on my body, I have a really bad allergy to one type of food, and none of these were picked up in the test.
Instead it told me things like tomatoes, tea and pork, none of which have ever given me any bother
To be honest, my sister who has IBS had a test with Holland and Barrette and was practically told she had an intolerance to everything! I honestly don't think that the shop done ones are that reliable!
She subsequently went to another one who specialises in IBS and had a different set of results!
