hi does anyone suffer from Obsessive-compulsive disorder ? what is it?? and how well do u hide it?

It does sound a bit OCD Pink lady, but like I said most people have habits and rituals.

Velvetee, i hate it when ppl use their fingers to pick sweets from the pick n mix section, what are the scoops for?? Also in the bakery section, where they use their fingers to pick donuts, crossiants etc, pinch n doesnt takeit and gets the next one!! ewwww.

my other obession is ... i always have to clean the toilet seat before i sit on it, and i have to put the toilet lid down after use, it irritates me wen ppl leaves it open!!!
wen i listen to my stereo in the car.. the volume can b any number but 13!!!!! oh man i have soo many :P xx

If someone says something and I don't hear what they have said, I have to ask them what they said, even if its a few minutes later when they have probably forgotten! Also if I am putting out stock at work I have to put it out so it lays the same way as it was in the box or crate I got it from. If I put it out the other way round, I have to go back and turn it over.

On the other hand, I do walk about barefoot at home (in fact this has just been recommended to me on Health as I seem to have Athletes foot). I eat fruit without washing it and my dogs sleep in my bed. Didn't someone once say you have to eat a certain amount of dirt in your lifetime?

I knew someone who was obsessive about washing their hands and it got so bad they ended up showering every few hours.

Dogs also suffer from OCD. Tail chasing, or trying to catch shadows or beams of light, or chewing their legs or feet are just some of the things they can do. Repeatedly bringing a ball and thrusting it at you or pushing you with their nose to get your attention are also signs.

lankeela, eww how can u not wash ya fruits before putting it in ya mouth?? its not just the dirt, its the thought of where its been,n how many pairs of hands have touched it (think about the ones who goes to toilet and dont wash their hands, scratching their bits etc), the creepy crawlys ..... and flys on it (flys lands on fresh poo, manures etc too u know) lol

Just remembered another (well did it actually and suddenly realised what it was). If I am reading something on a computer and click to go to another page, but miss the last couple of words of what I was reading, or am not sure what the last word was, I have to go back to read what it said, even if I know the gist of what was being said, I have to look to see the exact words.

Only just seen your post. Monk is a brilliant detective (Tony Shalhoub), but he has chronic OCD since his wife died. It sounds awful put like that, but the prog' is very funny and the stories are good. Think it's on BBC2 now.

God forbid, I even pick fruit off bushes when I am out in the country!

How do you know how your food has been prepared in a restaurant or shop even. I worked as a kitchen porter and I know for a fact that the chefs didn't wash their hands after going out for a fag, and who knows whether they washed their hands after using the toilet.

You could drive yourself mad worrying about things like that, I have heard of people who won't use a public loo in case they catch something - I'd have to pee myself if I couldn't find a loo when I needed one.

Thats one of the reason why i dont eat out :) i prefer to prepare my own food so i know it will be clean :) x

Ive seen chefs making pizza with one hand and holding a fag with the other!!
