Has anyone used this? How did you get on with it? Im terrified of the side effects, after the last lot of tablets i was given made me violently ill. Any insight / advice is welcomely received. Thanks all...
The only side effects I've ever had have been a slight thirst and a bit of dizziness, but that was at the beginning. When you say the 'last lot of tablets', do you mean Citalopram or a different tablet? How long have you been taking them?
Like helliebobs I only slight side effects and it has helped.
The one I had before that gave me splitting headaches but I had nothing like that with citalopram.
Give it a fair go. If you find it doest suit you you can always discuss it with the doc. Like some medication it takes a week or two to get into your system
Thanks to you all. I was given Venaflaxine ( Effexor ) before, that made me really ill, I havent started the Citalopram yet for the fear they will do the same.
My head seemed to keep shorting out and was really worrying me until a friend who is a nurse realised what was causing it and was fine as soon as I got back on them.
It's like many medications, you need to step them down to stop gradually.
I have them on repeat prescription on a collection service nwo so I don't forget :)
I started on 20mg Citalopram, and then my GP stepped it up to 40mg and I'm still on them. Been on them since February. Not cured yet but a lot better than at the beginning.
Nothing to fear from them.
been taking them for about 9 months and have to see doc tomorrow, hope he doesnt take me off them, my dad died in april and it knocked me for six and at this momnen dont think id cope!
I had side effects when I first started taking it. I'd get really anxious and felt sick alot.. but to be honest it never got any better for me so i stopped taking it. I'm better without. I now take St Johns Wort (its herbal) and that helps more and you get no side effects.
