I chanced upon my first marriage cerificate today and all the people on the left hand side are dead.
My childrens dad who died at 50 last yr -his mum who died at 49 and his dad who died after Dave died- of a broken heart -how sad is that?Who would have thought all those years ago how things were going to pan out.

Made me feel a bit maudlin !

Our side are still all there -in body at least !!!

Thanks wizard-just struck a chord !
How come you've still got it Dris? I gave mine to the solicitor when I was getting divorced as I'm sure she said she needed it for the court x

Well apart from the fact you can get a copy of any randoms Birth.Marriage Death Certificate -why would you have to hand the cerificate back in? Scottish law may be different as the solicitor had to write something in latin on the back for me to sign.Going to give it to one of the kids -think they would treasure it !!

We divorced after 18yrs of marriage amicably -well after the 5yrs when you dont have to point fingers -we were happy still being married until such time as we decided we we should move on.So we divorced -both shared the cost of one solicitor.

Plus if any cynics think im just going on a maudlin spree _i have just found my first will and Dave was executor along with my solicitor -and our ace neighbours witnessed it -a bitter sweet treck down memory lane !!
