Will I have a ginger child?

I am 6mths pregnant and I was just thinking if my baby will have ginger hair.
I'm not ginger but my grandad is, as is my sister and uncle. Both my parents have brown hair. My husband has dark hair and so does his dad but his mum is blond.

You obviously carry the ginger gene but that gene is recessive so unless your partner also carries it, it is unlikely that your baby will have ginger hair.

My daughter is a red head (strawberry blonde I call it, it's literally like red/gold) and her husband also has ginger in his hair. Their son is a redhead (gorgeous, though I am biased!) and they're expecting their second son just before Christmas who will have a 50% chance of being a readhead too (if both she and husband pass on the ginger gene again).

While I'm on I'm woondering if anyone here can answer me a question. I was told years back that although re-heads may get some stick - in later life the males would get their own back because ginger heads didn't go bald just grey. Is that true?

Both my girls were born with hair with a red tinge to it but over time my eldest went really blonde and it has stayed that way, my baby still has a ginger tinge to her hair. there is no ginger in my side of the family but the girls dad's dad has a slight ginger tint to his hair!

Thanks for all your answers. I can't wait to have my little boy and I really don't care what colour his hair is. To the people who posted stuff that didn't answer the question and just judged, get a life!!!!!

I Actualy, when i have kids, want a red haired baby.
throughout most of the anciant world ginger was the most loved hair colour.
Thor the god of thunder was portreyed as ginger.
and the prophet of islam, Mohammed, apparently died his hair ginger.
its a beautifullhair colour and there is somthing special about ginger people.
