Pain in stomach.

Can anyone shed any light on a medical problem I'm having please? I'm getting a sharp pain in my stomach about 3 inches to the left of my belly button. Its not too bad but I'm worried about it getting worse. In trouble again! Any ideas?

Not Dr either but poss appendicitus? My honest advice would be to ring NHS Direct or have a look on their website.

If it gets worse, go to a&e!

Could it be trapped wind? A can of coke can help, or buy some windeeze tablets from the chemist.

Appendicitus pains are usually (but not always) on the right side of your stomach.

If it gets worse, or if you start vomiting then ring NHS Direct immediately.

Yes, I agree with spudqueen, but pain from appendicitis can begin in the left side and then refer to the right side later and is often accompanied by vomiting , so keep an eye on it, if it does get worse, get yourself to the A&E..............hope you feel better soon...............welsh

what are your bowel movements ,are you frequent, or constipated could be wind, ibs get yourself checked out Hun by your GP

I think it'd be sensible just to have a word with your doctor Ania, because any one of the above things could be causing the pain. If you've had it for a while, it can also indicate fallopian tube trouble, although i'm sure you don't have to panic about that. Hope you soon feel alright again anyway.
