Just use water sg! xx
Bolied the kettle, use the water to clean out a cup and the pour the remaining water into the same cup. Once it luke warm the cover the eye with the cup and pouring the water into the painful eye. Another one, a hot towel ( like you get in the curry house) over the eyes for 10 mins.
If it carrys on see the GP, sound like conjunctiva. If you wear contact lenses then please dont for some days

Is conjunctivitis supposed to hurt this much? A quick search on symptons doesn't mention pain..
Might be worth having it looked at sg! Conjunctivitis is uncomfortable & itchy, but not as painful as you describe. Get it checked out at the hospital! xxx

Conjunctivitis can be very painful indeed. The more it itches, the more you rub and the more you rub, the more it itches. As anyone knows, keep rubbing at a sore spot and it just gets sorer.
My son's had the same symptoms as you've described, but I couldn't see anything in it. Just before I was going to take him to the doctor's, I bought some Optrex drops for itchy and irritated eyes, thinking that there might be an eyelash stuck where it couldn't be seen and the drops might flush it out. As it happened, he'd scratched his cornea - very faintly - but that's what'd caused all the stinging and redness. he was given some ointment to put in his eye, and the problem cleared up very quickly.
