What is the point of having eyebrows? Why do we need them and why do we continue to grow them?

the point in having eyebrows is so the harmfull rays from the sun does not damage your eyes as i am half english and half maltees i have got thick eyebrows because of the mediteranian sun.

I think it's so that humans have something to shave off other people when they are drunk. Not sure though.

Eyebrows are there to protect your eyes from sweat rolling down into them. Ever had salty sweat in your eye?? Eyebrows are here to stop the pain .Not nice.. keep 'em bushy for that reason.
