My girl is needing a haircut and dye job soon and shes never been to a hairdressers in this country so hasnt a clue how much it would cost. She lives in croydon just so you can get an idea. How much should a cut and dye cost?

I'm just about to start going to a home hairdresser because I don't want to pay the �100+ my salon hairdresser now charges for highlights and a cut! I know a friend pays �75 for hers. A full head colour is probably less than highlights because the latter takes longer. I'm usually in the hairdresser's chair for 3 hours! Mind you, I have long hair so I probably need more colour. You need to phone several hairdressers and ask for their prices.

Tups i am thinking of doing that also, what are these hairdressers thinking, its getting to the stage you will have to get a mortgage to have ure hair done, i have mid length hair and have it coloured and the rest, only in there for a matter of a 2 hours, i am due another at the end of october, and of course the crimbo party do, and they were going to charge me over �70 +tip, dont they know that people are struggling, if you wish the top end of hairdressing yes you pay tha max, but not some backstreet salon,dont get me started lol,i love the girl that does my hair though thats the sad part, would have to keep changing to keep the costs down!!!

mine is relatively cheap at 60 pounds - this is because i have the cap, not foils which take longer

If she is trying to save money then she could find a hairdressing college where you often get significant reductions as they have to practice.

Other than that, do you know any friends who are hairdressers?

My friend does mine for me, cut, dye, highlights and a lovely blow dry and straighten for me for �30.00 a time and we have a lovely girly chat over tea and biccies and cuddles with her cat.
