is there any way to make hair darker without dying it?

Hmmm. I don't think there is..! I pondered on this for years, wanting darker hair, and in the end I just had to dye it. If you don't like dye, get a semi- permanent one which doesn't use ammonia. Casting is a great brand, and they last 24 washes. It doesn't harm your hair- at least not nearly as much as permanent dye does.
