Sky + problem

I'm experiencing picture freeze. Has anyone had this problem and know how to cure it. I've tried swithing off from the mains and waiting. Then when I switch back on it takes ages - like 30 minutes to re boot - and still doesnt cure the problem. The worst affected is news channels with strapping lines running from right to left.

I get this a lot on music channels and childrens channels...Sky didn't help me at all.

I have tried allsorts of ways to reboot but to no avail. Its very annoying, so will be interested in any answers too.

Can you remove your viewing card and see if looks discoloured around the gold printed circuit cos mine looks like its been slightly burned.

Hi i had a similar problem i tried every thing sky said like reseting the box etc in the secreat menu but nothing helped. Then while i was reading a forum i found the problem was that there 3 type of sky+ box (they all look the same but are made by different manufactures) one is amstrad i forget the other 2 but any way the one i had was not compatable with my tv (smasung Plasma) once i got them to change the box it was all good. Took some asking to get them to change it though! Prove its the box by plugging in another tv for a lilttle while.
